Y el nuestro novio

Y el nuestro novio

Lyrics

Y el muestro novio no quere dinero,
quer' a la novia del mazal bueno,
que vengo a ver,
que gocen y logren
y tengan muncho bien.

Translation

And our groom does not want money,
he wants the bride of good fortune,
that I come to see,
may they rejoice and prosper and have much good. And our groom does not want bracelets,
he wants the bride with a smiling face,
that I come to see,
may they rejoice ... Ah, ah to the green fields
is the bride with her relatives,
that I come to see,
may they rejoice ... Ah, ah to the yellow fields
is the bride with her friends,
that I come to see,
may they rejoice ...

A song with two themes: the first verses tell about what the groom does not want and what he would rather prefer: not money but a lucky bride not bracelets but a bride with a smiling face. The second theme speaks about green fields, where the bride is with her family, about yellow fields where she is with her friends. The refrain: here I come to see, let them enjoy and achieve and have much good.
