From Arboleras - De las altas mares, Ecos Sefardies de la isle de Rodas, cd 2, 2009 This serial cantiga is a playful courtship song structured as a count from one to seven. In each verse, the speaker makes affectionate promises to a woman, exclusive devotion, marriage, love, and shared pleasures, repeating refrains that suggest song and dance. By the final verse, time has passed and marriage has not yet happened, but the song ends with hopeful faith that, God willing, it still will.
