This is a partial version of a romansa that was written in Jerusalem in the beginning of the 20th century, telling the tragic story of a betrayed woman who discovered that her beloved was engaged to another. She arrived at the wedding ceremony dressed as a man, and there stabbed the bride to be. She bemoans the faithlessness of her loved one and that she is serving in prison.

Lyrics:
- Pobereta muchachica, de que sufres el amor?
- Por un mancebco hermoso que por el me vo morir
Asentada en la ventana, labrando el bastidor
haberico me trusheron que mi amor se desposo.

Translation:
- Poor girl, why do you suffer love?
- For a handsome young man, for whom I will die
Seated at the window, embroidering within the frame
They told me that my love had married.
