Estas casas tan hermosas,
Para que bailen las novias
Para bodas,
Para bodas, las mis senioras.
Esta y otra,
Tra la la…
Adientro bailan las damas,
Afuera bailan galanas.
Para bodas,
Para bodas, la mi siniora.
Esta y otra.

Oy, qué buena que fue la hora
que vos alcancí,
con dos minianim de gente
qedoshín vos di.
Ansí, ansí, mi galana, ansí,
ansí, ansí, mi alma, ansí.
Yo le hice ‘nas buriquitas
y se las mandí,
porque era mi primo hermano,
de él me namorí.
Ansi, ansi….
Yo pasí por la vuestra puerta
horas de arví,
pasí y torni, non vos vide,
l’alma tengo ahí.
Ansí, ansí…
These houses are so beautiful,
So that the brides may dance.
For weddings,
For weddings, my noble ladies.
This one and another,
Tra la la…
Inside, the ladies are dancing,
Outside, the beautiful young women are dancing.
For weddings,
For weddings, my lady.
This one and another

Oh it was a good hour
that I attained you
with 2 minianim of men
I will give you Kidushim.
So, so, my beautiful young woman,
so so, my soul, so
I made him some buriquitas
and sent them to him,
because he was my first cousin,
I fell in love with him.
So, so…
I passed by your door
at the hour of Arvit
I went back and forth, but did not see you
My soul is there (with you)
So, so…
From Arboleras vol. 1 - Sephardic cancionero and coplas oral tradition,1996
Here are two consecutive Bulgarian wedding songs, the first describes the beauty of the bridal home and the importance of dancing and celebration, and the presence of both noble ladies and young women in the festivities, the second describes the giving of gifts of the bridal couple to each other, while in the repeating chorus is also a reference to dancing. Both songs are in the asymmetrical Balkan rhythm of 9/8
