In this copla, which portrays the anguish of a woman in labor (after nine months of strain) emerges as a communal event, accompanied by prayers and blessings for the entire congregation, blessing the newborn and his mother. The father arriving with guests, hold fish in one hand and a string of gold coins in another.
This is the best-known of the Coplas de Parida, as evidenced by its many versions. It was published in Constantinople in 1926 by Binyamin ben Yosef in his El Buquieto de Romanzas.

Oh, que mueve meses llevates de estrechura,
Mos nacio un hijo   de cara de luna.
mos viva la parida con sus criatura
Ya es, ya es buen simán, esta alegría.

Ya viene el parido    con sus convidados
traie en la su mano     resta de pescado,
para la parida,    sarta de ducados,
Ya es, ya es buen simán   esta criatura

Translation:
Oh, nine months of hardship you carried,
a boy is born to us, with a face like the moon.
May the mother live long with her newborn
now, now this joy is a good omen.

Here comes the father, with all his guests,
he brings in his hand a string of fish,
for the mother, a string of gold coins
now, now this child is a good omen.
