Jerusalem National Sound Archives placement: YCD2980/36 In the children’s repertoire there are rhymes that are used as invocations, spells and prayers, blessings and sayings. Among them is this invocation for rain, which Jewish children used to recite when, accompanied by their teacher, they all went to the cemetery to ask for rain during times of drought. According to the informants, they would usually return already soaked by the rain that had been granted.
