Mas presto ven palomba
mas presto ven a mi

Description

From Kanta Gayiko, Judeo-Spanish songs from Bulgaria, 2025
Orit Perlman : voice
Yarden Erez : accompanyment and arrangements

One of the better known Ladino songs, adopted from a Bulgarian folksong song, as presented in the first strophe, generously provided by Maria Kaufmann (from her father's folksongs collection , ethnomusicologist Nikolay Kaufman). This melody has been adapted to the 14th century paraliturgical poem (piyut), Zur Mishelo Achalnu,  sung after festive meals.
