This is a serial song with several lists, one, referring to the impatience for the expected day when the grom will see the bride (next to him, alone, with a veil), another of the traits that of the bride (tall as pine, languid and gallant dark as pepper and bright as a diamond). The chorus reiterates the intention to be together.
